Capt. Fernandez "Frank" Ponds, commander, Continuing Promise 2008 mission, addresses representatives from the United States Agency for International Development and World Food Program at the United Nations headquarters in Haiti concerning hurricane relief efforts. The amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge is assisting USAID and WFP by transporting food and supplies to flooded areas of Haiti where the damaged roads are making access difficult.
