Members of the Dance for Cause Ministries perform to the song "Lord, if I Got My Ticket Can I Ride?," an old African-American spiritual, Feb. 20, during the 2014 Fort Benning African-American/Black History Month Observance, at the Maneuver Center of Excellence's McGinnis-Wickam Hall. This year's observance theme was "Civil Rights in America." MCoE commanding general, Maj. Gen. H.R. McMaster, released a proclamation stating "While there has been tremendous progress toward equality across the past 150 years, we must not be satisfied or complacent, especially in our military. That is because the stakes are high in combat and the strength of our military forces, and indeed our nation, is our cohesion and teamwork."
