Cmdr. Jonathan Smith, command chaplain for the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima, baptizes Senior Chief Petty Officer Brian Wenzel, hospital corpsman, in the Jordan River. Sailors and Marines assigned to the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group were baptized during a tour of Nazareth, Israel, and the Jordan River. Iwo Jima is deployed as the flag ship of the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group supporting maritime security operations in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
