Spc. Brittny Palmerston, with the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, prepares for deployment at Camp Shelby, Miss. Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center became a mobilization site in June 2004 and continues to meet the challenges of providing for our nation’s defense by serving as a mobilization training center. It is the largest state-owned mobilization site in the nation, and supports a wide variety of training and logistical support activities. Camp Shelby has mobilized and demobilized more than 200,000 service members since beginning its mission as a U.S. Army Forces Command Primary Force Generation installation.
