Litter patients are carried from a Texas Air National Guard C-130 Hercules, on Aug. 31, 2008, to ambulances at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio following their aeromedical flight from Beaumont, Texas. In the potential path of Hurricane Gustav's landfall, a multi-state aeromedical Air Guard team from Texas, Delaware, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Tennessee helped airlift at least 247 patients to safety.
