A member of the U.S. Army's 7th Special Forcers Group jumps out of a Coast Guard HC-144 helicopter deployed from the service's Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Ala. The High Altitude-Low Opening (HALO) training exercise, taking place near Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, was the first of its kind between the two services. The HALO technique permits the parachutist to open the parachute at a low altitude after free-falling for a period of time.
