SOUTH PORTLAND, ME-?? Tourists visit the Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse during the 3rd annual Maine Open Lighthouse Day, Sept. 17, 2011. The U.S. Coast Guard, State of Maine and American Lighthouse Foundation welcome the public to view lighthouses as a way to increase awareness of Maine-s maritime heritage and the rich history of its lighthouses and lighthouse keepers.
