NEW YORK--Third grade student Nakia, from PS 249 in Brooklyn, shows off her painted hands during the school's paint club session where Publicolor site leaders and mentors and volunteers from Coast Guard Sector New York and Coast Guard Cutter Katherine Walker helped paint one of the school's hallways during Fleet Week Thursday May 27, 2010.

Hosted nearly every year since 1984, Fleet Week New York is the City's celebration of the sea services. This annual event also provides an opportunity for the citizens of New York City and the surrounding area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness first hand the latest capabilities of today's Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.
