WEST ALTON, Mo. - A Coast Guard 25-foot response boat from Coast Guard Marine Sector Upper Mississippi River, patrols the Missouri River after the towing vessel OMAHA (foreground) partially sank here May 30, 2008.

The OMAHA struck an unknown object while transiting the Missouri River and began taking on water. To prevent the OMAHA from completely sinking the crew grounded the vessel near West Alton and secured the vessel to the bank. All seven crewmembers made it ashore with no injuries.
