BROWNSVILLE, Texas - A Texas General Land Office boat with a Coast Guardsman onboard watch as the first of approximately 120 Mexican shrimp boats departs the Port of Brownsville Aug. 23, 2007.
The shrimp boats came to the port for safe harbor from Hurricane Dean which made landfall in Mexico.
A variety of agencies were at the Port of Brownsville to provide security, emergency medical and support services, and monitoring for pollution.
Agencies involved included the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, the Port of Brownsville Police and the Texas General Land Office.
