    FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The SWORD, shallow-water weathered oil recovery device, gets put to the test during sea trials in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Developed by Coast Guard Lt. Ernie Brown and Jason DeSantis, Lucas Owen and David Aviles of the National Response Corporation, the SWORD is designed to scoop up tar balls before making their way to shore.
