    CLEVELAND - Capt. Lorne Thomas, Chief of Staff, Ninth Coast Guard District offers thanks and congratulations for the crew of the 140-foot icebreaking tug Penobscot Bay for its service for the Great Lakes, especially its role in augmenting the Ninth District's eight ice breakers here aboard the ship's messdeck, April 2, 2010. The Penobscot Bay, homeported in Bayonne, N.J., arrived in Cleveland on Dec. 19, 2009 to assist with Operation Coal Shovel, which encompasses southern Lake Huron, St. Clair/Detroit River systems and Lakes Erie and Ontario, including the St. Lawrence Seaway.
