ABOARD CGC SHERMAN, in the Bering Sea - Officers and crewmembers aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sherman make cookies for Thanksgiving here, Nov. 26, 2008. The morale committee, led by Ensign Meghan Schoenhardt, held a cookie bake and decorating contest for the holiday. Capt. Mathew Bliven, commanding officer of the Sherman, granted holiday routine for Thanksgiving, allowing crewmembers to enjoy a day off from work besides standing routine duty. Thanksgiving occurred during a two-month long Alaska Patrol when Sherman crewmembers conduct fisheries enforcement, law enforcement, and search and rescue in the Bering Sea.
