PORT ANGELES, Wash. - Petty Officer Brooks Brannan of Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles advises Olympic Mountain Rescue members Steve Leslie, Mike Vanderslice, Pete Ozimek, Derek Boyden, Susie Dibenedetto, Andrew Higgins and Loring Bemis on procedures for securing an injured person into a litter while the crew of an HH-55C Dolphin Helicopter stand by to hoist the training dummy the team used in the drill Saturday. Olympic Mountain Rescue is a volunteer organization that assists with rescues where the upgraded Coast Guard helicopters might be the only vehicles capable of reaching an injured hiker.
