SEATTLE - The official party (from left to right) Capt. Stephen Metruck, the Commanding Officer of Sector Seattle, Jayson P. Ahern, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Deputy Commissioner, Adm. Thad W. Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard, Rear Adm. Frank M. Drennan, Commander of Submarine Group TRIDENT and Chief John R. Batiste, Chief of the Washington State Patrol, performed the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon at the Puget Sound Joint Harbor Operations Center (JHOC) here today.
The JHOC is the home for Sector Seattle's Command Center, Communications Center and Vessel Traffic Center. The JHOC will be the premiere state-of-the-art maritime Command Center for the Pacific Northwest partnering Coast Guard with Navy, Washington State Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, various agencies of the Department of Homeland Security and State of Washington and local first responder agencies.
