PORTSMOUTH, Va. - (May 24) Coast Guardsmen participated in the Inaugural Bruckenthal Memorial Motorcycle Ride today. The Coast Guard sponsored fundraiser was created to raise money for the daughter of Petty Officer 3rd Class Nathan Bruckenthal who was killed in the line of duty while deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom. To date, Bruckenthal is the only Coast Guardsman to be killed in the operation. The race began in Chesapeake, Va., and continued through Yorktown, Va.
