PORT ANGELES, Wash. (Sept. 6) -- Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeffery Vanover, flight mechanic on an HH-65J Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Port Angeles, prepares to get a fuel hose being lifted from the Coast Guard Cutter Active. As an avionics technician (AVT) Vanover holds the position of flight mechanic when part of an aircrew and is responsible for maintaining and repairing the aircraft's power, communications, navigation, auto flight and sensor systems.
