Nassau, Bahamas (July 24) -- Coast Guard aircrewmen from Air Station Clearwater, Fla., help off-loading cocaine seized in Nassau. The motor vessel Anne was discovered loaded with cocaine by personnel assigned to Operations Bahamas, Tirks and Caicos, or OPBAT. Eight crewmen were arrested after OPBAT members discovered cocaine worth $80 million hidden in a secret compartment abaord the 200-foot vessel.
