FT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2006)--White-glove members of the Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard fold the American flag during the memorial service for Petty Officer 2nd Class Steven Duque at Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale, Fla., August 28. The flag detail often slips three brass shell-casing into the folded flag before presenting the flag to the family. Each casing represents one volley fired during the 21-gun salute. Petty Officer Duque died in the line of duty during dive operations in theArtic Ocean 500 miles north of Barrow, Alaska. Coast Guard photo by PA1 Dana Warr.
