JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 9, 2005) -Chief Chad Barber (GMC) of Coast Guard Group Mayport, Fla., readies 200 rounds of amunition for an M60 machine gun, which is mounted on a 25-foot defender class small boat. Chief Barber is conducting live fire training of the M60 for Jacksonville area units. The M60 machine gun can fire 600 rounds per minute and has a muzzle velocity of over 2,500 feet per second.
