RAM ISLAND, Mass. (May 4, 2003) Clean Harbors work crews deploy fresh snare boom around Ram Island, a nesting area for the endangered roseate tern. Snare boom prevents the oil from washing farther up on the island and into highly sensitive nesting grounds. Ram Island was one of the most oiled islands in Buzzard's Bay when a barge owned by Bouchard Transportation of New York spilled 14,700 gallons of oil. USCG photo by PA2 Amy Thomas
