(Sept. 6) -- Coast Guard Ensign Meredith Gillman waves a red prop to simulate a fire on the flight deck, while other crewmembers of the Coast Guard Cutter Active (WMEC 618) assemble a fire team. The Active, homeported in Port Angeles, Wash., is a 210-foot medium endurance cutter and its primary missions are law enforcement, search and rescue and defense readiness.
