An E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the "Golden Hawks" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 112, bolters off the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). A bolter is called when an aircraft on approach for landing misses the arresting gear wires requiring them to circle around and attempt to land again. John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in support of the global war on terrorism and maritime operations.
