General Herbert Carlisle, commander of Air Combat Command, has declared the
F-35A Lightning II "combat ready." The fifth-generation fighter has reached
initial operational capability, having reached several milestones including
the ability to deploy and conduct operational missions as well as having all
necessary logistics and operational elements in place. Hill Air Force Base,
along with the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings, is proud to host the F-35A
Initial Operational Capability Ceremony on August 5th, 2016.
