June 6, 2025, marks the 81st commemoration of Operation Overlord, also known as D-Day.
U.S. Naval Forces Europe (NAVEUR) is commemorating the naval legacy of Allied operations in Normandy and highlighting the understated story of Operation NEPTUNE, the naval component of D-Day, which enabled Operation OVERLORD.
From June 1-8, NAVEUR hosted and participated in various events in the Normandy, France region aimed at emphasizing the maritime contribution to D-Day and honoring the sacrifices of U.S. and Allied service members.
