Historically, Army Medicine recognized exceptional Soldiers through the individual Best Warrior Competition. That legacy evolved into the Best Leader Competition before becoming today's Army Direct Reporting Unit (DRU) Team 12 Best Squad Competition, reflecting the Army's emphasis on teamwork, physical readiness, tactical proficiency, and combat-ready formations.
From July 20-24, the Army DRU Team 12 Best Squad Competition will challenge squads to prove they have the discipline, endurance, technical expertise, and cohesion required to succeed in the toughest conditions.
Only one squad will earn the honor of representing Army Medicine at the U.S. Army Best Squad Competition later this year.
