Khaan Quest 17 is a Multilateral Mongolian military sponsored capstone exercise for the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI), which provides pre-deployment training to GPOI partner countries preparing to deploy to U.N. peacekeeping missions in the region. The U.S. military and members of the Mongolian Armed Forces have a long-standing relationship and routinely participate in joint exercises. The U.S. Embassy represents U.S. activities in the country and announces U.S. involvement in exercises.
