Representatives from more than 30 nations spanning six continents are preparing for their participation in the International Mine Countermeasures Exercise (IMCMEX), a defensive mine countermeasures exercise to be held in the international waterways of the Middle East, April 4-26, 2016. IMCMEX serves to reinforce relationships with international partners, improve capability within the area of responsibility, and strengthen the regional capacity to improve interoperability of participating nations. Through activities that will span the region and challenge partners to work in cooperation, IMCMEX demonstrates the global resolve in maintaining freedom of navigation and the free of flow of maritime commerce.
