National Guard Task Force Mobilizes to Restore Safety in Nation's Capital. Effective August 11, 2025, the D.C. National Guard supports both federal and local District law enforcement. Their activities range from providing administrative support and traffic control to conducting security patrols and operating traffic control points. The National Guard is a professional force who can support law enforcement organizations. Comprised of volunteers to defend their country and communities, Citizen Soldiers and Airmen are especially appropriate to support their community.
