DTRA/SCC-WMD/SJFHQ-E building becomes tool to characterize and deter nuclear attacks
DTRA/SCC-WMD/SJFHQ-E joins the United States Prompt Diagnostics SystemThe recent installation of an array of sensors on the Defense Threat Reduction Center (DTRC) has turned the building that houses the DoD’s experts on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) into part of a giant tool built to deter a WMD attack. The DTRC, home to the One Team of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the USSTRATCOM Center to Combat WMD (SCC-WMD) and USSTRATCOM’s Standing Joint Force Headquarters for the Elimination of WMD (SJFHQ-E), is now part of the United States Prompt Diagnostics System (USPDS) that was established to characterize and deter a nuclear attack on the United States.

A joint team across DLA Distribution, made up of experts in packaging and packing policies, base supply, contracting and finance, was established to consider how costs could be reduced and standardization could be introduced in the area of packing supplies.
