NAVAL STATION ROTA, SPAIN (June 30, 2026) Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota Command Master Chief Donald Alvarado joins AFN Rota for his monthly radio show, "CMC Super Show," accompanied by Sergeant Leonardo Luna, U.S. Army Food Inspector, and Sergeant Jessica Thomson, U.S. Army Veterinary Technician, from U.S. Army Veterinary Readiness Activity to talk about the U.S. Army birthday and the specifics of their role on Naval Station Rota. Later he was joined by David Jackson, Retail Services Specialist 1st Class, and Jairo Gomez, Logistics Specialist 1st Class, from Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center to talk about their mission on Naval Station Rota. As the "Gateway to the Mediterranean," NAVSTA Rota provides U.S. NATO and allied forces a strategic hub for operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. NAVSTA Rota is a force multiplier, capable of promptly deploying and supporting combat-ready forces through land, air and sea, enabling warfighters and their families, sustaining the fleet and fostering the U.S. and Spanish partnership.
