Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain (August 14, 2025)- Naval Station Rota commanding officer Capt. Charles Chmielak came into AFN Rota for "Morning Joe with the CO," Capt. Chmielak had U.S Army Capt. Jeffrey Bryson, NAVSTA Rota Veterinarian and Leah Kenney, Rota Animal Welfare League Adoption Coordinator. Capt. Chmielak discussed with the NAVSTA Rota team about services provided at RAWL and the base VTF. NAVSTA Rota provides U.S., NATO and allied forces a strategic hub for operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. NAVSTA Rota is a force multiplier, capable of promptly deploying and supporting combat-ready forces through land, air, and sea, enabling warfighters and their families, sustaining the fleet and fostering the U.S. and Spanish partnership.
