The US Department of Veterans Affairs is finalizing a new rule published on Feb. 22, 2023 and going into effect April 24, 2023, that would allow veterans who received emergency care outside of a VA facility since 2010 to have the costs of the care covered. The rule will also help veterans receive reimbursements for such care now going forward.
