Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Robert B Neller, released the third episode of his Message to the Force and spoke about the importance of Marines leading how they want to be led.
"Lead like you want to be led. We know who the leaders are who set the best example, through their conduct, through their actions, through their words, the things that they do. I think all of us in that area need to up our game. Leaders at all ranks must live and model the behavior we want our subordinates to emulate, our marines want to be inspired, they expect that our leadership will be admirable in all things. The purpose of a leader is to serve not to be served, the responsibility of a leader is to provide for those who they are responsible for, not for them to provide for them. Lead like you want to be led."
