On this week's Deck Watch, the Coast Guard conducted two medevacs near Cold Bay, Alaska, Monday and Wednesday. Two Good Samaritan vessels responded to an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and assisted the Coast Guard in rescuing three men in the water near Valdez, Alaska. The Coast Guard alongside the Alaska Office of Boating Safety educated children in Juneau on preventative measures and steps to take in maritime emergencies as part of Arctic Shield 2014.
