  • Leon Caffie is pinned by the 81st Regional Support Command's Maj. Gen. Bill Gerety after being sworn in as a U.S. Army Reserve Ambassador aboard the USS Yorktown, in Charleston, S.C., Oct. 2.  Caffie, a retired command sergeant major, recently culminated his military career with his terminal assignment as the Command Sgt. Maj. of the United States Army Reserve Command.  Caffie is one of four new ambassadors in the 81st Regional Support Command, located at Fort Jackson, S.C. A native of Gainesville, he is one of four ambassadors that will serve as a liaison in the state of Florida. The Army Reserve Ambassador Program was established in April 1998 so that private citizens can help to promote awareness of the Army Reserve and the identified goals and objectives of the Chief, Army Reserve.
