Gunnery Sgt. Rene Hernandez, Lockhart, Texas native and Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 environmental compliance officer, listens on during the reading of his environmental impact award’s citation at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., April 22. The award was given to him on Earth Day symbolizing the military’s conscious effort to act as good stewards of the environment today and throughout the year. MCAS Yuma is also scheduled to hold a street clean-up off station, recycling activities with on station youth and an Earth Day 5K to promote resource conservation and other green initiatives.
