Sailors and civilian personnel with 3rd Dental Battalion visited the school to give the students a presentation on dental hygiene as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month. Personnel with 3rd Dental Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, spoke about the importance of brushing and flossing twice a day, seeing a dentist twice a year, and which foods are good and bad for your teeth.

Shaw is a member of a group of volunteers who are visiting elementary schools on military installations throughout Okinawa in February, which is National Children's Dental Health Month. Sailors educated students on which foods and drinks to avoid and proper brushing and flossing techniques to maintain good dental hygiene. Shaw is a hospital corpsman with 3rd Dental Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Shobe is a second-grade student at Kinser Elementary School.
