Samarra residents attempting to give No Slack to AQI in city

The lone-standing spiral minaret in Samarra, Iraq was built in 944 AD and is the most noticeable feature in the skyline in Samarra after the bombings of the Al-Askari mosque, the two other minarets and the clock tower. It has been said that the bombing of the "Golden Dome Mosque" was the cause for much of the sectarian violence in the country since 2006.
