    Lt. Col. Richard Bordonaro, 6th Communication Battalion, commanding officer, and Sgt. Maj. George Sanchez, salute the graveof Lt. Col. Franklin Wharton's grave. The Marines placed a wreath to pay tribute to Wharton on the 237th Birthday of the Marine Corps, Nov. 10, 2012. Wharton was the 3rd Commandant of the Marine Corps. He served from 1798 to 1818 and was the first Commandant to occupy the Commandant's House, Marine Barracks, Washington. He was born in Philadelphia, and now rests at Trinity Church a few blocks away from Wall Street in Manhattan. (Marine Corps production by Sgt. Randall A. Clinton / RELEASED)
