Hull Maintenance Technician 3rd Class Joshua Moore and Damage Control Fireman Robert Richmond, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17), discharge hoses at Beach 41st Street Apartment in Queens as part of the dewatering team from San Antonio. San Antonio has been tasked to assist in the dewatering of apartment complexes in the Rockaway Beach neighborhood. The U.S. Navy has positioned forces in the area to assist U.S. Northern Command in support of FEMA and local civil authorities following the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.
