Maj. Gen. Michael Stencel, Adjutant General, Oregon, (right) presents a challenge coin to Cpt. Philip Troy, Operations Officer, 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team (CST), Oregon National Guard, for his outstanding efforts at the World Track and Field Championships, July 15-24. Stencel visited the CST, July 16, at their operations center near Hayward Field, University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore., and observed their joint operations with local, state and federal authorities. They conducted ongoing threat assessments and regular sweeps of the area to help ensure the safety of all participants and observers at the event. This is the first time the World Track and Field Championships have been held in the United States.
