Oregon Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Mark Crosby, Assistant Adjutant General-Air, speaks with 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team (CST), Oregon Army National Guard Commander Maj. Richard Hosmer at the CST’s operations center located near Hayward Field, University of Oregon, in Eugene, Ore., during the World Track and Field Championships, July 15, 2022. Crosby also spoke with members of the CST and observed the joint operations they were conducting with local, state, and federal authorities during the Championships. The teams performed ongoing threat assessments and regular sweeps of the area to help ensure the safety of all participants and observers at the event. After the visit, Crosby and his son-in-law attended the Championships’ opening ceremony and watched the track and field events. The World Track and Field Championships ran from July 15-24, and it was the first time the World Championships have been held in the United States.
