Watkins, a corpsman with the 1st Marine Division Surgeon’s Office, carries the Navy guidon during a hike in celebration of the 237th birthday of the U.S. Navy here, Oct. 12, 2012. Watkins, a 33-year-old native of Bradenton, Fla., hiked with more than 160 sailors with 1st Marine Division. The U.S. Navy was created on Oct. 13, 1775 by an act of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
