    Seaman Cory Manka, a student at the Combat Trauma Management course at the 1st Marine Division Surgeon’s Office, eats a slice of cake during ceremony for the 237th birthday of the U.S. Navy here, Oct. 12, 2012. Manka, a 19-year-old native of East Hampton, Conn., received the second slice of cake for being the youngest sailor in the division. The U.S. Navy was created on Oct. 13, 1775, by an act of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia.
