A mill uses bits similar to the ones shown to cut metal and make parts from scratch at the 542nd Support Maintenance Company machine shop on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The 542nd recently purchased a computer numerically controlled milling machine allowing the unit to mass-produce intricate parts at tight tolerances.
