Marines and Sailors with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit march onto the flight deck of the USS Makin Island (LHD-8) as they man the rails for their arrival at San Francisco for the 2012 Fleet Week, Oct. 3, 2012. From Oct. 3-8, Marines and Sailors of the 13th MEU, I Marine Expeditionary Brigade, will participate in numerous community outreach events including the Italian Heritage Day parade, urban search and rescue demonstration, park restoration projects and hospital visits.
