U.S. Army Col. David G. Cotter, Area Support Group Qatar commander, meets with Chief Warrant Officer Verona Williams, from Columbus, Ga., after a re-opening ceremony at the Camp As Sayliyah dining facility, on Nov. 28. After finishing over $200,000 worth of improvements, the dining facility will compete for its first Philip A. Connelly Award, on Dec. 6. "Earning the Connelly Award means you are the best feeding facility in the Army," said Williams. "According to the Third Army commander, we are the best in Southwest Asia." Her initiative and dedication to improving the Army's dining experience is well known in Qatar – and elsewhere, since the installation is home for the U.S. Central Command's rest and recuperation pass program for troops serving in Southwest Asia. "I won two Connelly Awards while stationed at Fort Hood."
