Civilian firefighters await the arrival of an Air Force C-130 equipped with the Modular Airborne Firefighting System 2 to extend the fire line and prevent this wildfire from spreading near Shoshone, Idaho on August 8, 2012. C-130s with the MAFFS 2 system are an important part of the Forest Service's efforts to fight wildfires throughout the U.S. Three Air National Guard units and one Air Force Reserve have been activated during this fire season to help control wildfires.
