Chief Master Sgt. Jimmy Dehart a loadmaster with the 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard and U.S. Forest Service employee Bob Onsgard consult with ground personnel as fire retardant is being in one of the wings C-130 J aircraft equipped with the Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems, Aug. 7, 2012. The 146th Airlift Wing is working with the Forest Service by dropping retardant on wildfires in the region around Boise and has been recently joined by two MAFFS equipped C-130s from the 302nd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve from Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs, Colo. Altogether there are three Air National Guard and one Air Force Reserve units currently equipped with the MAFFS 2 systems in the U. S.
